First cut to assess the job, then an agreed rate for ongoing cuts
Lawn prices have gone up, and so have ours — but we do this as a business, not out of love. The first cut is $75/hr + GST, and we agree a rate for ongoing visits from there.
It seems high, but plenty of other contractors cost more. Given how quickly we cut and the expertise we bring to trimming edges, it rarely works out to all that much. The hourly rate is charged every 15 minutes or part thereof.
We don't lock you into a rigid every-14-days schedule like other contractors. Grass needs cutting when it needs cutting: roughly every 14 days, as often as every 10 days in spring and early summer when it's growing nuts, and sometimes stretching out to six weeks in winter. The average lawn on the Kapiti Coast needs about 25 cuts a year.

And if you'd like to lock in ongoing service, payments can be made by plan or automatic payment — your cost per cut times 25 cuts for the year, divided across 26 fortnights. It spreads the cost evenly through the year and takes the sting out of the busy months.
